Overnight stay
We offer overnight stay with full board. A three course meal will be served every evening in the authentic dining room, eaten together with other guests and hosts. Feel like you have travelled back in time while having a nice conversation by the fireplace, enjoy a sauna and icebath, or maybe even go aurora hunting with us! We also have 2 cabins for rent.

Special events
Regularly we will offer dinner with live music. From folklore songs to classics from the '60ties & '70ties, our music nights are guaranteed to bring magic to your heart. During the season we will also offer other events like workshops, sauna evenings with icebaths, evening sledding or aurora hunting. Should you want to collaborate with us on this, feel free to contact us!
ABOUT THE TOURIST STATION
The view from Hållfjället is just one of the best things - it instantly calms your soul, and connects you to something bigger
Hållfjällets Turiststation is situated near the tree line, 8kms from the nearest village of Ottsjö. In winter time, it can only be reached on ski’s, by snowmobile or dog sled. (We offer a snowmobile taxi service from the parking in Ottsjö).
The station was built around 1940 by a man from Austria named Theodor Seefried. At that time, Theodor and his wife were running the Fjällsätra hotel in Undersåker, and the new tourist station would be a great tour destination for their guests. A place to rest, experience and further explore the beautiful mountain area.
All materials were brought up by horses. Theodor himself was both the architect and the supervisor. He was also a skilled decorator: all bunk beds and several other places have wonderful flower painting decorations from his hand. To this day, almost all of the interior remained in its original state.
When Theodor and his wife left Jämtland in 1949, the Swedish air force used the station for several years as a lookout post and training centre. After that, Hållfjällets Turiststation has been serving and hosting tourists again under several different hosts.
Nowadays the tourist station is owned by Ströms Slott AB, a company from Ljungkile that specializes in building and child care. After the staff quit, it has been standing empty for several years.
